Six storeys were added to the original building, along with a new exterior envelope and a façade celebrating the grid structure of the original building. The design unifies the original and the new twenty-storey building with a common language. In a contemporary statement of a classical motif, the design creates a pedestrian edge with columns and a covered walkway, complemented by street front restaurants and retail tenants.

PENN WEST PLAZA
This corporate complex sits at a prominent downtown Calgary location along 9th Avenue SW. The project is an adaptive re-use of a four-storey former post office building and an adjoining site that had been used for surface parking. In the context of downtown Calgary’s sea of highrise offices, this development maintains a distinct profile through the use of tinted glazing, bright finishes, and subtle articulations and accents.
